Inside the Seattle Estate Where Art and Architecture Collide

Nearly 90 guests gathered at a Seattle estate to celebrate art, architecture, and community. The event transformed a stunning home into a living gallery, blending design with local creativity.

### When a Home Becomes a Living Gallery As dusk settled over Clyde Hill, just east of Seattle, the estate at 8528 NE 13th Street glowed with light. Inside, nearly 90 guests gathered for an evening celebrating architecture, art, design, and the creative pulse of the Emerald City. Hosted by Jen Cameron of The Agency Seattle and Arushi Kapoor, founder of The Agency Art House, the event turned this striking Pacific Northwest Contemporary home into a living, breathing gallery. Curated with contemporary works by local artists, the occasion wasn't just a party—it was a statement. A reminder that a home can be more than walls and windows. It can tell a story. ### The 8528: A Masterpiece of Design Simply known as The 8528, this 7,440-square-foot home was designed by Andrés Villaveces of Métrica Architects and built by GMarko Development. It sits on the shores of a private lake in one of the Eastside's most coveted enclaves. Every sightline is deliberate. Walls of glass draw your eye through the home and out toward the landscape, creating a series of versatile spaces that feel expansive, warm, and deeply connected. It's the kind of architecture that makes you pause—and then want to move through it, which is exactly what Jonathan Batista, principal dancer with Pacific Northwest Ballet, did on film. ### Art That Breathes Life Into Space "The property was a stunning backdrop for the event, but the art created a deeper connection between the buyers, the community, and the home itself—it brought the story to life," said Cameron. "The collaboration behind 8528, from the architect and builder to the artists and creative partners, has created extraordinary exposure and helped us tell the story of this home in a completely different way." That collaboration extended to four local artists: Mary Lonergan, Christy Hopkins, Natalie Sifferman, and Sue Ellen Zhang. Their work, curated by Arushi, found perfect perches on the home's generous wall space. During the evening—sponsored by Seattle Bentley—guests sipped champagne, enjoyed music, and had the chance to experience and purchase the art throughout the residence. Andrés shared insights on the architectural vision, while Arushi spoke about the intersection of art and space. ### The Art of Balance "A home already has a rhythm, an idea of what it should be, and art should enhance that, not compete with it," noted Kapoor, whose bespoke staging services were recently featured in the fall edition of The Agency Times. "It's about balance, knowing when art should lead and when it should quietly support." That philosophy was on full display. The artwork didn't shout over the architecture; it complemented it. It made the home feel lived-in, even before anyone lived there. ### A Night to Remember From left: Jen Cameron of The Agency Seattle, Natalya Markova and Michael Gavrishov of GMarko Development, and Andres Villaveces of Métrica Architects.
